Not every environmental leader sets out to become one. For Aijaz Ali Keerio, the path from landlord to activist grew naturally out of a deep connection to his home, Village Majeed Keerio in Tehsil Sakrand, and a refusal to accept that environmental neglect was simply the way things had to be. As a landlord by legacy and a native Sindhi social leader, Aijaz Ali Keerio understood early that the health of a community is tied to the health of its environment. • Establishing Hamdan Environmental Services: Bringing professional waste collection, recycling and composting to the area.
• Offering free technical consultancy: Sharing expertise so communities can build their own sanitation and waste systems.
• Championing solid waste management: Advocating for better practices and writing on the issues facing Pakistan.
